Position: Market Manager (Hiring)
Status: FT/PT
Enjoy your job. Everyday. CT’s foremost organic/hydroponic farm is looking for a Market Manager for our farmer’s markets. Work outside. (No box store here.) Interact with knowledgeable customers. No two days are ever the same. Take responsibility—be your own boss. Be a part of something different, something cool. It’s about surrounding yourself with some of the best food in the world.
Duties:
The Market Manager is the “face” of the farm. Organizational and interpersonal skills are of the upmost importance. You will organize our produce to drive to select farmer’s markets in CT and NYC. Set up, promote sales and handle all customer transactions, questions and concerns. Track sales and monetary transactions. Communicate daily with the farm director to continually improve customer experience and farm success. Hire, tutor and oversee associates who work on-site at the farmer’s markets as well.
Position: Greenhouse Assistant (Hiring)
Status: FT
Welcome to the world of organic/hydroponic agriculture. Come and work in state-of-the-art greenhouses creating some of the best produce found anywhere. You learn from over 20 years of experience to grow and care for the finest salads, microgreens and herbs.
Duties:
Greenhouse Assistants are under the direct supervision of the Greenhouse Manager. Daily activities consist of planting seedlings in nursery trays, plant baby plants in Hydroponic channels, maintain their upkeep, Harvest plants that are fully grown, weight, sort, label, and package produce, be able to recognize and treat disease. Responsibilities also include daily changing of filters, keeping the greenhouse and packing room clean, making sure empty boxes are put in recycling bins, stocking the
greenhouse when supplies run out. A basic knowledge of hydroponics or greenhouse experience is preferred but not necessary. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Valid driver’s license preferred.
